Microsoft-backed blockchain Space and Time publicly launched Dreamspace on April 23 — an AI app builder that lets users generate, audit, and deploy on-chain apps, smart contracts, and front ends without writing code.

Inside Dreamspace

Dreamspace is built on Microsoft Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI. Front ends are hosted on Azure; smart contracts can be deployed to any EVM-compatible network, with Base as the default. The tool was in beta since August 2025 — Space and Time says more than 34,000 apps were built before the public release.

Why the Stack Matters

The pitch is familiar — "no-code Web3 builder, now with AI" — but the stack is different. Dreamspace is the clearest production example so far of a crypto-native product shipping on Azure AI Foundry as primary infra, backed by Microsoft's M12 venture fund. That matters for distribution: Azure-shop enterprises can now onboard to an onchain app builder without leaving their procurement perimeter.

The Azure-shop distribution angle is the sleeper signal. Previous no-code onchain builders like thirdweb and Particle Network courted Web3-native developer audiences. Dreamspace, by defaulting to Azure AI Foundry, targets enterprises that already hold Microsoft procurement contracts — a very different go-to-market funnel. Early beta users included Fortune 500 teams experimenting with tokenized loyalty programs and onchain invoicing, per Space and Time's launch post. The 34,000 beta apps headline looks big, but retention is the open question: how many of those apps have seen a transaction in the last 30 days? That figure is not disclosed. Watch whether Dreamspace publishes a monthly active-deploy dashboard — that's the number that will separate marketing traction from real usage.

The Real Test

The real question is retention beyond the 34k beta pool. Watch Dreamspace's 30-day active deploy rate on Base over the next month — that's the signal that AI app builders are moving real users onchain rather than just generating one-shot demos.
